Installer Guide to Securely Set Up a Chargepoint

As part of the UK Smart Charging regulations 2021 Schedule 1 Security requirements, the following article provides information for installers to securely set up the charger.

The customer must make an account to use any Easee applications. The account is used throughout the Easee ecosystem, so they do not need to make additional accounts when switching between mobile and desktop.

They can do this by either pressing Create an account in the Easee app or following this link on their computer: https://www.easee.cloud/auth/signup

Inside the Easee Installer app:

  1. Press Create new site.
  2. Enter the Site info with Site name, Street name, Street number, Postal code and City.
  3. Enter the Customer name and Customer phone number if you have the information. If not, you can skip this step and add it later.
  4. Select United Kingdom as the Country.
After selecting United Kingdom, you will be prompted with the National requirements screen. Follow the instructions on the screen if they apply to you.
  5. Press Continue.
  6. Select Site type.
  7. Press Continue.
  8. If you know the operator, select it in the drop-down menu. If not, select Easee, or skip the step for now.
  9. Enter the main fuse information in the Main fuse field.
  10. Press Create site.
  11. Enter the Circuit fuse and the Circuit name.
  12. Press Continue.
  13. Enter the WiFi login information in the Network (SSID) and the WiFi password fields.
An SSID password can be up to 31 characters. The characters dot (.), slash (/), backslash (\) and hyphen (-) are not usable in a WiFi password.
  14. Press Continue, or if there is no WiFi, press No WiFi available.
  15. Scan the master backplate.
  16. When the master backplate is successfully scanned and stored, enter a Position name for the backplate.
  17. Press Continue.
  18. Continue adding backplates to the circuit using Add another backplate if required.
Once all backplates have been scanned and stored, press I´m done and confirm you have registered all backplates.
  19. Upload the site details to the cloud.

When you are done with adding everything to the site, you can transfer the ownership to the customer.

The customer will be able to add additional users through the Easee desktop portal.
