Bluetooth offers all the important functions and additional interesting features such as setting the maximum current for the circuit. Bluetooth also provides another access option for users who cannot use the NFC interface.
The primary requirements for Bluetooth accessibility are:
- The charger firmware must be at version 316 or higher
- The Installer app or User app must be updated to version 2.0.0 or higher
Once these two requirements are met, you will have the ability to connect to the charging robot via Bluetooth in both the installer and the user app.
Activating Bluetooth
To activate Bluetooth, press and hold the button above the LED strip. You will hear a high-pitched tone and the LED strip will light up blue; this indicates that Bluetooth has been activated. Bluetooth will remain active for 10 minutes.
Uses
The biggest benefit for the installer is in troubleshooting an offline charging robot. Once Bluetooth is enabled on the charger, the installer can:
- restart an offline charger
- change WiFi information on an offline charging robot
- access the information of an offline charging robot
The biggest advantage for the owner is that they can use the charger even when it - or the cloud - is offline. Even when offline the user can:
- start and stop, turn on and turn off a charger
- lock and unlock the charging cable
- set the current limit
- manage local RFID keys
- access the information of a charger
- restarting a charger
- change WiFi information
Bluetooth and the cloud
Bluetooth does not replace the need for an internet connection at the site. Bluetooth is very useful when the charger has connectivity issues, but a WiFi connection is still required. This is especially true when used with an Equalizer. Bluetooth should be considered as a backup solution if the internet connection fails.
