Adding a charger using Bluetooth

Adding a charger using Bluetooth is very similar to using NFC.

Exceptional Information Flag Icon.svgIf you do not have access to the site before working with the chargers, you will need to use a PIN to connect to each charger.

With the site open in the app, press the circuit the charger is on, then press Add product.

You will see a screen asking you to use NFC or to use Bluetooth to add the charger.

Select Bluetooth.

An animation will start showing you the steps required. If you are an experienced installer, you can press Skip. If you are not experienced, or would like to see all installation steps animated, press the arrow to continue.

Enter the WiFi information. If you press No WiFi available, you will skip over the WiFi connection and go straight to entering the position name.

Press Select WiFi to show methods for scanning for the WiFi, either scanning with the charger or with your device.

With the WiFi entered, add the position name of the device. This name makes it easier to identify the charger when using Portal, or otherwise not near the charger.

You then move on to configuring the charger.

This example will continue to use Bluetooth.

Press Scan via Bluetooth. The device will scan for chargers. Select the charger by its serial number. It should be listed in the Unconfigured section at the top.

An animation will start, showing what is happening. The LED stripe in the animation will match the LED stripe of the charger.

Once the charger is configured it will communicate with the cloud. You can wait for this verification, or you can press Check later if you do not want to wait for verification.
