In Germany, the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) now allows grid operators to reduce the power consumption of household devices to 4.2 kW, especially when there is a significant load on the power grid.
For Easee chargers, the Equalizer and a compatible meter are required. The following meters are compatible:
- Easee Equalizer Amp
- Janitza UMG 604 Pro
- CVM E3 Mini
The grid operator can initiate load shedding measures via a ripple control receiver or the FNN control box, which is connected to a potential-free contact and communicates with the meter. This system then signals the Equalizer, which adjusts or pauses the charging process accordingly.
Once the grid no longer requires load management, the Equalizer can resume the interrupted or reduced charging process. Reauthorization of the charging process is not required.
