New Way to Set Up WiFi

  • Updated

Important Notification for Installers
To comply with the EN 18031-1:2024 EU RED Cybersecurity Directive, Easee has made
changes to the installation process to meet the latest EU wireless security standards.

New Way to Set Up WiFi
At installation sites without cellular (4G) coverage, you must now use Bluetooth to connect
the charger to WiFi.

WiFi credentials are no longer stored in the backplate chip, and it is currently not possible
to use EaseeLink commands to add WiFi.

What This Means
In areas with weak or no mobile signal, the WiFi setup process will be slightly different.
Since Bluetooth is now required for configuration, it may take a little more time compared
to the previous method.

Temporary Change
Our Engineering Team is actively working on a new and improved method for setting up
WiFi. Once released, the process will become faster and more seamlesssimilar to how it
worked before.
