How do I control user access to a charge site using the Easee app?

You may live in a building with multiple Easee Charge chargers. If you have access to chargers on a Easee Charge site, there are two ways chargers will become available in the Easee app.

Method 1: I want to charge on any charger in my building.

If you have been added as a user on a site with multiple chargers, the chargers will only become available in the Easee app and Easee portal after you have started charging using your Easee key. As soon as you have tapped your Easee key on the charger it will be in the app and portal.

First the owner of the site does the following:

  1. Go to https://portal.easee.com.
  2. Search for the site you wish to manage.
  3. Go to Tools, then Access Control.
  4. Change the access level to Access only for approved users.
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Check that all chargers that should be accessible to all users are listed under Linked chargers.
  7. Invite approved users.

When a charger is linked, it means that the charger has the same access level as the site.

Then the Easee user does the following:

  1. Go to App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and download the Easee app.
  2. Register as a user in the Easee app, or on: https://portal.easee.com.
  3. Add your Easee Key in the Easee app, or on https://portal.easee.com.
  4. The charging robot is automatically added to the Easee app when a charging session is started with the Easee Key.

Method 2: I have my own charger and parking space in my building.

If you have been added as a user on a site where you have your own private parking space with a charger, then the site owner must add you as a user on that specific charger. When added as a user to a specific charger, the charger will always be available in the portal under "My products" or in the Easee app.

First the owner of the site does the following:

  1. Go to https://portal.easee.com.
  2. Search for the current site
  3. Go to Tools, then Access Control.
  4. Unlink the charger from the site access level. The charger is found in the Linked chargers list.
  5. Once unlinked, go to Products and select the charger. 
  6. Invite approved users.

Then the Easee user does the following:

  1. Go to App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) and download the Easee app.
  2. Register as a user in the Easee app or on: https://portal.easee.com.
  3. The charging robot is automatically added to the Easee app when the owner of the site has invited the user.
