There are three different reasons that may cause your cable to be stuck.
- Someone has tried pulling out the cable when locked, thereby causing tension between the locking arm and the cable. In this case, the Charger card will show the cable is locked, but will not be blue.
- The charging cable connector tolerance and type of material may cause issues.
- The Charger is offline due to connection issues.
Methods to help remove the charging cable.
There are three methods to remove the charging cable. The first method is additionally shown in the video at the end of this page.
Try them in this order.
Method 1:
- Make sure the cable is disconnected from the car.
- Make sure the permanent lock is deactivated.
- Press Cable on the Charger card in the Easee app.
The Permanent cable lock tab comes up.
- Make sure the permanent lock is set to Off.
- Make sure the Cable button on the app says either Unlocked,
or it says Locked with a white button.
- Press Cable on the Charger card in the Easee app.
- Push the charging cable hard into the charging box.
- While pushing the cable, press the touch button on the charger (just above the LED strip).
This should allow the cable lock to move up freely, unlocking the cable from the charger. You will hear the locking arm move.
- Pull the cable hard out of the charger. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 if it did not work and put extra strength into it.
Method 2:
- Remove the front cover of the charging robot.
- Make sure the locking arm can move freely without touching anything.
- If there are no visible obstacles restricting the movement of the locking arm, loosen it: move it up and down several times until you feel it move more smoothly.
- Try locking the charging cable again without the front cover installed. Then it's easier to see if it's working or if there's some other problem.
Method 3:
This method is in case the Charger is unable to access the cloud. In those cases, you cannot unlock the cable from the app. You will have to enter the WiFi interface to unlock it. Log in to the Charger's WiFi Interface
Otherwise the problem may be the hole at the head of the cable. Unfortunately, there is no standard that regulates the size or material of this opening, which can lead to tolerance conflicts between products. In this case, we recommend purchasing an Easee cable.
