Managing Easee Keys and their access

When you want to control access to your charger, there are different ways you can handle a location that has multiple keys. For example, you way want a key associated with a particular user. Or you way want a key to only work on a specific charger.

There are two ways to identify an Easee key:

  • Account Key - an account key has access to all chargers you have access to.
This type of key would be associated with one person or account, to use at different chargers.
  • Local Key -  an account key that only works on one specific charger.
This type of key would be used at only one charger by whoever holds that key. An example would be a building owner giving keys to tenants to use the charger associated with their unit.

A key can only be an account key or a local key. It can not be both, and it can not be neither.

To add a key, or to convert a key to one of those types, see Adding an Easee Key (RFID keytag) from the Easee app.
