Shuttered cables are charging cables that have an additional piece - the shutter - that gives additional protection against contact with electrical parts.
However, when a shuttered cable is used, then the locking functionality, usually available in the Easee charger, will not function. The use of a shuttered shutter cable depends on the cable remaining locked in the charger and uncontrollable by the user. When the installer has completed configuring the site, then they will determine whether shutters are used or not.
If you have shuttered cables, you will not see the locking icon on the main screen for your charger.
If the installer has not marked the site for shuttered cables, then the screen will show the locking status on the charger card. In this image the cable is shown unlocked.
If you want to know more about the site settings or type of cable, we recommend you reach out to your electrician directly.
