Dutch people are using more electricity for things like induction cooking, heating with a heat pump, and of course charging an electric car. In the winter months, energy demand rises while the supply of sustainable energy (sun and wind) is lower. To ensure there’s enough energy for everyone, we sometimes need to distribute demand smartly. Electric cars play an important role in this — and you can easily help.

How you can help

How you can help With the Easee App you can set a charging schedule. That way you can just plug in your car when you get home, and charging will automatically start outside peak hours. Our advice for the winter months: do not charge between 17:00 and 21:00 on weekdays.

How do I set the charging schedule?

It’s very simple!

If the schedule is not visible in the Easee App, the app may need to be updated (Google Play or App Store)

Important

  • Need to charge in between? Temporarily deactivate the schedule. Reactivate it after the charging session to remain eligible.
  • No longer want to participate? Delete the schedule.
  • Please note that deactivating or deleting the schedule reduces your chance of winning the prize.
  • By agreeing to set a grid-aware schedule to avoid charging during peak hours, you also consent to share your home address, postal code and aggregated energy consumption with our partners to verify user eligibility and report on the grid impact. You also give Easee permission to contact you using the information you provided in the Easee app if you are selected as a prize winner.
 

Terms & Conditions – Winter Charging Schedule Promotion

Participants and participation:

  1. Participants must be at least 18 years old.
  2. No additional fees are charged to participate in this promotion.
  3. This promotion is exclusively aimed at consumers with an Easee home charger. Business installations are excluded from participation.
  4. The following Easee chargers are included in this promotion: Charge Home, Charge Lite, Charge Up and Charge Max.
  5. The charger must be installed in the Netherlands and linked to the owner’s personal Easee account in the Easee App.

Promotion period:

  1. The giveaway applies to setting a charging schedule in the Easee App during the winter months: 1 November 2025 through 29 February 2026.

  2. To be eligible for the prize, the participant must set the charging schedule that prevents charging between 17:00 and 21:00 on weekdays (Monday to Friday).

Selection and announcement of winners:

  1. The 5 participants who charged the least during peak hours (17:00 – 21:00 on weekdays) will be selected as winners. “Least charging” means the lowest kWh consumption during these peak hours.
  2. If more than 5 participants charge exactly 0 kWh during peak hours, the 5 winners will be selected based on the highest total kWh consumption during the winter period.

  3. Winners will be validated by Easee.

  4. Winners will be announced using the information provided by the user in the Easee App.

  5. The prize must be claimed within 14 days of announcement.

Prize details:

  1. Each winner will receive €500.00 net.
  2. The prize will be paid directly to the winning participant’s bank account.

Other:

  1. Complaints about this promotion may be submitted to support.easee.com
