No light from Equalizer

  • Updated

For the Equalizer to function correctly, it must receive both power and data from the meter. When there is no light visible on the device, it usually means that neither power nor data is being delivered through the port.

This is often because the HAN/P1 port on the electricity meter is not activated, or the port is disabled for some reason.

💡 Tips
Contact your power provider and ask them to close/open the port. It is important that the port provides both power and data.

Also verify with the provider that the correct type of port is being used – either a P1 or HAN port.

Actions you can try yourself

Restart the meter

Turn off the main circuit breaker in the property for about 2 minutes, then turn it back on. This can help restore communication if the problem is due to:

  • temporary communication issues

  • updates in the meter

  • temporary system faults

Contact the network operator to reset the port

This is the most common solution if the Equalizer is not receiving data. The power and data sent through the HAN/P1 port on the electricity meter are controlled by the network operator, and the port can sometimes be closed.

This can happen, for example, during:

  • changing electricity supplier

  • updates to the electricity meter

  • temporary faults or power outages

When you contact the network operator, it is important to ask them to:

  • Open the HAN/P1 port

  • confirm that the port shares both power and data

It may also be wise to verify that you have the correct Equalizer model that fits your meter.

If the problem is still not resolved

If the port has been confirmed active by the network operator, but the Equalizer still does not show any light, you can contact Easee Support.

We then recommend attaching a confirmation from the network operator that the HAN/P1 port is activated, so that we can investigate if there are other causes of the problem.

External electricity meters

In some cases, other types of electricity meters are used, such as:

  • Eastron

  • Micromatic

  • Janitza

If this is the case, it is recommended in such cases to contact the responsible electrician to check the configuration of the meter.
