Easee charger offline – restore the LTE-M connection

Restore the LTE-M connection

LTE-M is your charger’s built-in mobile connection. It connects the charger to Easee Cloud without Wi-Fi, provided there is LTE-M coverage at the charger’s location. Use the steps below to restore the connection when your charger is offline.

01Is LTE-M recovery the right route?

This procedure is for a charger that has power but is offline, when Wi-Fi is unavailable or you want to use LTE-M.

Already online through LTE-M? No recovery is needed. Bluetooth is not required for the procedure, and you do not need to remove a saved Wi-Fi network.

A charger with no power, no response or an undiagnosed charging problem needs different checks. The general offline guide also helps when you are unsure which connection to use.

02Before switching off the charger

Stop charging first. Only operate the charger’s circuit breaker when you can identify it, are authorised to use it and can do so safely.

Cannot complete the procedure safely? Contact your installer or the responsible site operator. At a managed or shared site, the site owner or operator must arrange the restart when you are not authorised.

A protective device has tripped

Leave a tripped circuit breaker, RCD or other protective device switched off and contact your installer. Do the same if it trips again after power is restored.

03Restart once, then leave the charger on

The charger must remain without power for at least 30 minutes before the LTE-M recovery period begins.

Already off for at least 30 minutes during this problem? Skip another restart. Leave the charger powered on and count the recovery period from when power was restored. When it is still switched off, restore power only when the safety conditions above are met.

  1. Switch off the charger’s circuit breaker

Charging must have stopped before you remove power.

  2. Leave it switched off for at least 30 minutes

  3. Restore power and note the time

The recovery period starts when power is restored. A protective device that trips again must remain off; contact your installer.

  4. Keep the charger powered on

Do not repeat the restart while LTE-M recovers.

Allow up to 24 hours for reconnection

The connection may return sooner. Leave the charger powered on throughout this period; charging can continue when it works.

This waiting period applies only to the online connection. For a separate power or charging problem, follow the appropriate checks in the offline guide above. You do not need to wait 24 hours before requesting help with that problem.

04Check the connection in the Easee App

Open your charger in the Easee App. WiFi or LTE-M on the charger card means it is online. Bluetooth means local access only and does not confirm an online connection.

The charger is online

The connection is restored. Stop here: no further LTE-M checks or restarts are needed.

Still offline, but fewer than 24 hours have passed

Leave the charger powered on until the recovery period is complete. Do not restart it again.

Still offline after 24 hours

Contact Technical Support and provide:

  • The charger’s serial number.
  • Whether charging works.
  • The time power was restored.
