📱 Effortless style — default from 16 June 2026
This article describes the Easee app in the Effortless style, which is the default for all new users from 16 June 2026. If you are still using the Classic style, see Easee App – Classic Style Navigation. You can switch between styles at any time under Preferences in the app.
The Equalizer is a device that lets your Easee charger know how much power is available. If you need all your power somewhere else in the house, it will let the charger know exactly how much it can use to charge your car.
Rather than monitoring your overall energy consumption, it's designed to work as a smart device that helps your charger safely deliver the maximum available power to your vehicle.
The Equalizer Card
This is what the Easee Equalizer card looks like in your Easee App. Notice the information icon in the card's top right corner. The icon will appear throughout the app to give you additional information about the current setting. If you press the information icon on the Equalizer card, it will show you About, Status types and LED lights. The LED lights can be used for troubleshooting.
What do the different colored lights mean on the Equalizer?
On the image of the Equalizer, you can see your consumption as a percentage of the fuse capability, also indicated by the blue ring.
Press the image of the Equalizer to see how much each phase currently uses.
Usage vs Available tile — kW or % view
The Usage vs Available tile shows real-time power usage compared to what is available. You can now toggle the display between kW (kilowatts) and % (percentage of fuse capacity) — press the toggle on the tile to switch views.
Why doesn't my Equalizer allocate 100% of the available energy?
Easee chargers require the same amount of energy on all 3 phases. For example, if you have 16 A on L1, 10 A on L2 and 8 A on L3, the Equalizer will only allocate 8 A — leaving 8 A unused on L1 and 2 A on L2.
24-Hour Consumption
The Equalizer now shows a 24-hour consumption graph, giving you a rolling view of energy use over the past day.
24-hour consumption data is only collected when the Equalizer is connected to WiFi. When the Equalizer is offline and balancing via EaseeLink (radio connection to the master charger), data will not be gathered.
The Equalizer Settings
Inside Equalizer settings you can find an About section with information about your unit. You can also change the name of your Equalizer, the WiFi settings, and send simple commands like restart and remove Equalizer.
Main Fuse Limit
The Main fuse limit sets a threshold for charging — the charger will not operate unless building power consumption is below this limit. This is particularly useful if your energy provider charges different rates based on time of day or peak demand.
In the Effortless style, the Main fuse limit is also visible directly on the product card for quick reference, in addition to being configurable in Equalizer settings.
When consumption drops below the Main fuse limit, the Equalizer waits 10 minutes before allowing the charger to increase power. This ensures the available power is stable before resuming full charging.
