If there has not been a power outage, the charger losing power can, in rare cases, pose a safety risk.
Normally, there would be no problem because the Easee app would notify you that the fuse has tripped. But in those cases where the fuse has tripped and the charger appears offline in the app, you should take extra safety measures since the details of the problem are unknown.
How you handle the issue depends on if the car was charging when the charger lost power, or if the charger was sitting idle. Follow the appropriate steps below. We always recommend removing the charging cable from both the vehicle and the charger before you restore power. This is a safety measure to protect your installation.
The charger was charging when it lost power
- If it is on, turn off the charger fuse in the fuse panel.
- Unplug the charging cable from both the car and the charger.
If the charging cable is locked when the charger is off, stop here. Do not turn the fuse back on and contact support for further assistance.
