Authentication
Depending on the access settings, you can authenticate with an Easee Key, a compatible RFID tag, or through the Easee App using your Easee account.
Waiting for authentication
The charger is waiting for authorisation through an Easee Key, a compatible RFID tag, or an authorised Easee account.
Present the Easee Key or RFID tag: Hold your Easee Key or a compatible RFID tag against the RFID area on the front of the charger. Wait until the key or tag is recognised.
Not sure where the RFID area is? View the charger layout and features →
With an Easee account: Open the charger in the Easee App and authorise charging there. The account must have access to the charger.
Key is being verified
The Easee Key or RFID tag has been detected and is being verified. Wait for verification to finish.
Authentication failed
Authentication was not confirmed. Check the Easee Key, RFID tag, or Easee account used.
Check the Easee Key or RFID tag: If you use a third-party RFID tag, it must support NFC / ISO 14443 or MIFARE Classic® at 13.56 MHz and use a fixed identifier. Then check whether the Easee Key or RFID tag has been added to your account, site or charger. If access is managed by an operator, contact the operator.
Check the Easee account: Make sure you are signed in to the Easee App with the correct account and that the account has access to the charger or site. At a shared site, the site owner, administrator, or operator must grant access. Understand access and authentication →
Errors and commissioning
Open the display that matches the colour and light pattern on your charger.
Safety lockout
The charger has detected an error and has been locked for safety reasons.
- Disconnect the charging cable from the vehicle
- Disconnect the charging cable from the charger
- Switch the circuit breaker off and on again
The light strip remains red: If the light strip remains solid red after the restart, contact Easee Support.
Connection to the primary charger lost
A secondary charger has lost its local connection to the primary charger. This is often caused by distance or obstacles between the chargers.
Re-establish the local connection: First check that the primary charger is switched on and shows a normal status. Then restart the primary charger, followed by the affected secondary charger. Wait a few minutes and check the light strip again.
Still no connection after restarting? Easee Support can help. Have the affected charger's serial number or the site key, along with a brief description of the issue, ready. Find the serial number →

The charger must be configured by an installer in the Easee Installer App.
Are you an installer?Open the Easee Installer App and complete the configuration. If you do not yet have an account, create an account using the Installer App. |
Do you use or manage the site?Contact the installer who set up the charging site. The configuration must be completed in the Easee Installer App. |
Configuration cannot be completed: If an error appears during configuration or commissioning cannot be completed, Easee Support can help. Submit a support request and provide the charger serial number and the error message shown. Find the serial number →
Issue persists? Have the charger serial number, visible light pattern and any error message from the Easee App ready, then contact Easee Support.
Light strip completely off
Check the status in the Easee App first. Then follow the path that matches your charger.
Check status and activation
Open the charger in the Easee App and check in the charger settings whether it is active or deactivated.
Charger is deactivated
A deactivated charger will not charge, and its light strip remains off.
Charger is offline
If the charger is offline, connect to it via Bluetooth in the Easee App. Once connected, open Charger settings and switch the charger back on.
Charger is active and online
Check the LED brightness in the charger settings. If the activation status and brightness are correct, wait a few minutes and check the light strip again. It may be temporarily off during some stages of a self-test.
Charger remains offline
If the charger remains offline and cannot be reached via Bluetooth, check whether it is receiving power.
