What do the different colors on the light strip mean?

Normal light strip displays

  • Standby. The charger will show two white LEDs if it is the master charger, and one if it is a secondary charger.

                   

                   

  • Car connected. If there is no smart charging enabled, it will be all white. If smart charging is enabled, then the LEDs will all show blue.

                   

                   

  • Charging in progress. If there is no smart charging enabled, it will pulse all white. If smart charging is enabled, then the LEDs will all pulse blue.

                   

                   

  • Waiting for authentication. (Hold your RFID tag at the wireless symbol on the “nose” of the charger to authenticate and initiate the charging)

                   

  • RFID tag received. (Waiting for key verification from backend system)

                   

  • RFID not recognized by the operator.
    In this case, you should contact your operator. Otherwise make sure your Easee key is properly added to the account or charger.

                   

Error light strip displays

A solid red light for all LEDs indicates an error with the device and that it has been locked for safety reasons.

If the light stip is solid red,  follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the charging cable from the car.
  2. Disconnect the charging cable from the charger.
  3. Turn off the fuse that the charger is connected to. Turn the fuse back on.

If the light strip is still solid red after the fuse is turned on, please contact support.

Two other error indicators you should be aware of:

The secondary charger has lost connection with the master charger. This is usually due to a large distance between them, or to obstacles interfering with the signal.

               

The charger is waiting to be configured.

               

Exceptional Information Circle Info Icon If you have tried to configure the charger many times but the light strip continues to flash yellow there might be an issue with the RFID chip on the backplate. Contact support.
