Charging access and user roles
Understand who can charge, who can manage access and how access settings work in the Easee App and Easee Control.
Charging access works in three layers: the access level decides who may charge, the user role decides who may change that setting, and the linked status decides whether the charger follows the site or uses its own access level. Check them in this order.
01Who can charge?
The access level gives the first answer. It determines who may start a charging session and whether identification is required.

Charging permission is not the same as App access
If the charger is missing from the Easee App, use the access guide for installation invitations, ownership transfers and shared sites.

The user role controls management rights. It does not by itself give someone permission to charge.

03Which access setting does the charger use?
After checking the access level and role, check whether the charger is linked to the site access setting or managed separately.

What changes between SDU and MDU sites?
SDU and MDU here refer to the site type, not the charger product group.

To find the site type in the Easee App, open the site overview, select settings and open About. If this information is unavailable, ask the Site Owner or Administrator.
04Change access
Choose where you want to manage access.
Easee App
Use this route to change the access level for the charger you are viewing.
Open the charger
Open the required charger in the Easee App.
Open Access
Select Access on the charger card.
Choose the access level
Select Open, Public or Private.
Access updated
The selected access level is now active.
Easee Control
Use this route for site administration, Linked status and approved-user lists.
Open the site
Sign in to Easee Control, select Easee View and open the required site.
Select the charger
Open the charger whose access setting you want to change.
Open Access
Select Access using the lock icon.
Choose where access comes from
Select Linked to follow the site access level. Select Open, Public or Private to manage this charger separately.
Review approved users and save
For Private access, open Access list to review or manage approved users. Select Save when you are finished.
Access updated
The charger now uses the access setting you selected.
Another operator manages the site?
Change access in the operator's app or contact the site operator. Easee Control cannot override access managed by another operator.
