Plan an Easee installation

Choose compatible chargers, complete the electrical design, configure the site and hand it over.

Use this guide to move from product and circuit planning to site configuration and customer handover. It provides orientation only: the exact product guide, a site-specific electrical design and applicable regulations remain authoritative.

01Confirm responsibility and access

Before choosing equipment, confirm who is responsible for the electrical design and that the installer can configure the Easee site.

Authorised electrician required

Easee products may only be installed, repaired or serviced by an authorised electrician. Follow the exact product guide and all applicable local, regional and national regulations.

Confirm Installer Company access

The Easee account used for configuration must be connected to an Installer Company. If the company already exists, ask its administrator to add the installer instead of creating a duplicate.

Prepare the Installer App

Use a phone that supports NFC or Bluetooth. NFC can program a backplate before the Chargeberry is fitted; supported Bluetooth flows require the Chargeberry to be installed and powered.

02Choose the product group and circuit

Once installer access is ready, use the charger model—not the site type in the app—to decide which products may share a circuit.

Keep one product group per circuit

SDU and MDU chargers cannot form one load-balancing group. A site may contain several circuits when the site-specific design supports it. Confirm product availability, approvals and exact limits for the selected market and variant.

03Complete the electrical design

After the product group and circuit boundary are known, size the installation for present demand, site conditions and planned expansion.

Define present and future demand

Confirm the number of charging points, expected use and whether more chargers or Easee Ready backplates may be added later.

Assess the supply and grid

Verify the incoming supply, grid system, available phases and any site-specific limitations on three-phase charging.

Choose conductors and protection

Determine the cable route, conductor size, overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection and any upstream residual-current protection required for the supply cable.

Plan load balancing

Chargers in one circuit distribute the available current dynamically. Add an Easee Equalizer when charging must also adapt to the building's available capacity, and keep the phase sequence consistent at the meter and chargers.

Easee planning recommendations
  • Consider a three-phase installation when the grid, vehicle and local requirements support it.
  • Use the largest conductor cross-section approved for the exact product and installation method when future expansion is expected.
  • Consider Easee Ready backplates and blind covers where future charging points are planned.

04Install from the exact product guide

Use the installer guide for the selected product and variant for all physical installation values and actions.

The product guide is the installation procedure

Do not use this overview to set clearances, conductor preparation or terminal torque. Confirm those values in the current guide before starting work.

05Configure and upload the site

After the hardware is installed according to its guide, transfer the verified site and circuit design into the Installer App.

Create the site

Select the correct site type and enter the required site information and address.

Enter the electrical values

Add the verified main fuse and charging-circuit fuse values from the site design.

Configure the chargers

Use NFC or Bluetooth as supported by the selected product. With NFC, program every backplate with the correct site and circuit data before fitting the Chargeberry.

Upload to Easee Cloud

Check the circuit structure and charger configuration, then upload the completed site.

06Complete the handover

Once the site is uploaded, give the customer the installation records and transfer ownership to the intended Site Owner.

Store the charger details

Record the serial number and PIN from the Chargeberry sticker and leave the information in an agreed secure location for the owner.

Send the ownership transfer

Use the Installer App or Easee Control to invite the intended Site Owner by email or a generated sharing link.

Confirm acceptance

The customer signs in or creates an Easee account and accepts the transfer. Ownership changes only after the invitation is accepted.

Explain site management

Show the customer the agreed charging and management method. Larger or shared sites may be managed in Easee Control or by a charging operator.

The installation is ready for the owner

The product is configured and online, the transfer has been accepted, and the owner has the records and management route agreed for the site.

Handover still can't be completed?

If site configuration or ownership transfer still fails, include the charger serial number or site key, the product model, the step that failed and the exact message shown in the Installer App or Easee Control.
