Charging slowly or seeing a charging limit?

Find the active limit in the Easee App and follow the right next step.

When charging is slower than expected, Available energy shows how much current the charger can offer and which limit is controlling it. The car may still choose to draw less current than the charger makes available.

01Find the active charging limit in the Easee App

Open the charger in the Easee App, then use its charger card to identify the highlighted limit in Available energy.

Open the Easee App and follow this path:

01

Open the charger

Select the charger you want to check.

02

Select the current button

On the charger card, select the lightning/current button beside the displayed current.

03

Open Available energy

Read the highlighted row in the list of limits.

The yellow symbol marks the value currently limiting the available current. Use the exact row label—not the general message above the list—to choose your next step. A highlighted limit does not necessarily indicate a fault. The car may still draw less current than the charger can offer.

In the Easee App, Equalizer limit is the active 6 A value. The other values are not currently controlling charging.

02Understand the limit shown in the Easee App

Choose the highlighted limit in Available energy to see what it means and what to check next.

Active limit What it means What to do next
Max charger current The maximum current configured for this charger is limiting what it can offer. If the value seems too low, ask the site owner or administrator to check it. The charge point operator can also adjust this setting.
Cable/car limit The car is requesting less current, or the charging cable supports less. Check the car’s charging settings and the cable rating. A lower current can be normal, particularly near the end of charging.
Circuit fuse size The configured fuse size for this charging circuit is limiting the available current. If the value appears incorrect, ask an authorised installer to check it against the installed fuse.
Max circuit limit The configured maximum for the charging circuit is limiting the available current. Ask the site administrator or an authorised installer to check an unexpected value.
Temporary charging limit The power output of this charger has been temporarily reduced. This setting resets when the charging cable is disconnected. Ask a site owner or administrator to change this limit.
Dynamic circuit limit The available charging current is being adjusted dynamically by your installation or a connected charging management system. If the limit seems unexpected, contact the site administrator or the operator managing charging.
Equalizer limit The Equalizer is reducing the current available for charging based on the capacity available at your installation. Check Usage and Available on the Equalizer card, then tap the Equalizer image for phase readings. The Equalizer guide explains what to do with these values. Check the Equalizer
Max circuit limit (Fallback) A fallback current limit is active while the charger is offline or has lost its connection to the Equalizer. Check whether the charger is shown as offline. If the fallback remains active, ask the site administrator or installer to check the charger and Equalizer connection.
Schedule limit A charging schedule set in the Easee App is restricting the charging session. Check the active charging schedule in the Easee App and adjust it if you have access.
Heat protection The charger is reducing the available current because it has detected an elevated temperature. If this continues, follow the high-temperature troubleshooting guide. Check high-temperature guidance

03If no unexpected limit is active

The charger may be offering the expected current while the car draws less. Charging speed also depends on the cable, available phases, circuit and the car’s onboard charger.
