Is the Equalizer limiting charging?

Use the Easee App to confirm the active limit, compare building use and phase readings, then choose the right next step.

Use this guide when Equalizer limit is highlighted in Available energy in the Easee App. Compare the live Equalizer readings with building use to see what is reducing the current available for charging.

01Confirm the Equalizer limit in the Easee App

Open the charger in the Easee App, select the lightning/current button beside the displayed current, open Available energy and read the highlighted row.

In the Easee App, the yellow symbol beside Equalizer limit confirms that it is controlling the available current.

If another limit is highlighted, follow its exact label in the Charging Limits guide.

02Compare the Equalizer readings in the Easee App

From the site overview in the Easee App, open the Equalizer card. Compare Usage with Available. Tap the Equalizer image to see the current on each phase.

  • Building use is high.

Heating, a water heater, an oven or another high-power appliance may leave less current for the car. Charging normally increases again after this consumption falls.

  • One phase has less spare capacity.

Three-phase charging uses the same current on all three phases. The phase with the least spare current can therefore restrict the complete session, even when total building use appears low.

  • Capacity has only recently returned.

Once building use is below the configured Main fuse limit, the Equalizer typically waits about 10 minutes before allowing the charger to increase power. Recheck the values after consumption has remained below the limit for about this long.

When the live readings do not explain the limit, compare Main fuse limit on the Equalizer product card with the electrical installation. A deliberately lower value leaves less capacity available for charging and can make the limit appear more often.

Do not increase the value without verification

An authorised installer must confirm that the setting is safe for the electrical installation before it is increased.

03Use the result of the checks

Use the readings to decide whether charging is balancing normally or needs a closer check.

If the limit clears after building use falls, the Equalizer is balancing as expected. If one phase remains much more heavily loaded, or the Main fuse limit appears incorrect, ask an authorised installer to check the installation.

If charging does not start or stops and the Equalizer readings do not explain it, check the charging status in the Easee App.
