New user – Access in the app

  • Updated

In this article, we explain the different ways you can gain access to an Easee charger in the app, and what is recommended in the various situations.

Before you start

Before you proceed, it is important to clarify what type of charger you have:

  • Home charger

  • System charger (e.g. in housing cooperatives or condominiums)

If you have a charger in a housing cooperative or condominium, you will often have limited rights and access, as the charging system is shared with several users. In such cases, access is usually managed by a third party or the board.

Access to home charger

If you have a home charger, there are three ways to gain access:

Transfer from electrician

If the charger has recently been installed and not yet put into use, it may be that the electrician has not completed the transfer of ownership.

Transfer of ownership is the final step in the installation and is performed by the electrician when the work is completed.

If you have not received an invitation, we recommend that you contact your electrician. The invitation is usually sent by email and gives you the owner role for the charger and the installation.

Transfer from previous owner

Have you recently moved into a home with an existing Easee charger? This is one of the most common scenarios.

If the previous owner has used the Easee app, it is easy to transfer ownership. The transfer is done directly in the app, where the previous owner sends you an invitation via email, SMS, or a shareable link.

We have created a guide that you can share with the previous owner:

Access with serial number and PIN code

If none of the above methods are possible, you can add the charger manually using the serial number and PIN code.

This information is often available from the electrician or previous owner, so we recommend contacting one of these first.
