Charger offline in the Easee App?
Check whether charging still works, then restore the online connection.
Offline in the Easee App means it cannot currently reach your charger remotely. Charging may still work, so check that first.
Can you still charge your car?
Use what you already know or try your usual charging method. Do not test if the equipment is damaged, the charger shows a fault warning or a protective device has tripped. Follow the checks under “No”.
Yes, charging works
Continue with 02 to restore remote access to your charger.
No, charging doesn’t work
Being offline and being unable to charge can have different causes. Choose the check that matches what you see.
The lights look normal, but charging does not start or has stopped
Connect by Bluetooth to read the current status; the cloud status may be outdated. Use the local Bluetooth steps in 02, then follow the action for the status shown.
Check the current charging status
Resolve the charging problem first. Then restore the connection if the charger remains offline.
Leave a tripped breaker or RCD off. Do not reset or bypass it; contact your installer or site operator.
I can’t test charging right now
Continue with the connection checks. Test charging separately when you can; restoring the connection does not confirm that charging works.
Restore the online connection
A known Easee service issue may affect the remote connection.
Check Easee service status
If an incident matches the problem, wait for the next service update and check the charger in the app again. Continue only if it remains offline.
No relevant incident? Choose how to reconnect
Reconnect Wi-Fi when a suitable network reaches the charger, or restore its built-in LTE-M connection. LTE-M does not require Bluetooth or Wi-Fi setup first.
Restore Wi-Fi
Connect locally with Bluetooth
Bluetooth gives you local access to the charging status and Wi-Fi settings while the charger is offline. Stand near the charger, enable Bluetooth and allow the Easee App to use it. Sign in with an account that already has access to the charger.
- Press and hold the touch button above the light strip for at least five seconds. This disconnects other devices using the charger’s Bluetooth connection.
- Open the charger in the Easee App. In Charger settings, select Connect via Bluetooth and complete the prompts.
- Check that Bluetooth appears on the charger card. This confirms local access, not an online connection.
Bluetooth will not connect or the option is missing
Get help connecting with Bluetooth
If the charger is missing from your account or settings are unavailable, ask the site owner or operator to check your access and make any permitted changes.
Charging still works? Use the LTE-M recovery route to restore remote access. To restore Wi-Fi, complete the Bluetooth guide first, then continue to the final support step if Bluetooth is still unavailable.
Reconnect or change Wi-Fi
Only Administrators or Site Owners can change Wi-Fi in the Easee App. At a managed site, ask the person responsible for the installation to update it.
You need the network name and password. The network must be password-protected, use 2.4 GHz and reach the charger.
- With Bluetooth connected, open Charger settings and select WiFi under General.
- Use Search to choose the network, or Add manually to enter its full name. Enter the password and select Confirm.
- Turn off Bluetooth on your phone temporarily and check that the phone has internet access. Return to the charger in the app and check its connection type. Turn Bluetooth back on if you need local access again.
For screenshots, password restrictions and full requirements, see the Wi-Fi setup guide
WiFi or LTE-M is shown — the charger is online
WiFi confirms the Wi-Fi connection. LTE-M means the mobile connection is working instead. Bluetooth alone does not confirm remote access.
Wi-Fi still not connected or keeps dropping? Continue with 03. Re-enter the details only if they need correcting.
Restore LTE-M
Use this route when the offline charger has power. LTE-M requires coverage at the installation, but no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi setup. Keep any saved Wi-Fi settings.
Before the LTE-M restart
Stop charging. Operate the charger’s circuit breaker only if you can identify it, are authorised to use it and it has not tripped. Otherwise, ask the site owner or operator to arrange the restart.
Leave a tripped breaker or RCD off and contact your installer. Do the same if it trips when power is restored. Do not force a locked cable or open the charger.
Has the charger already been off for at least 30 minutes during this problem? Do not restart it again. Restore power safely if necessary and count the recovery time from when power returns.
- Stop charging, then switch off the charger’s circuit breaker.
- Leave it off for at least 30 minutes.
- Restore power and note the time.
- Keep the charger powered on. Allow up to 24 hours after restoration, without further restarts. Charging may continue if it works.
The 24-hour waiting period applies only to connectivity. Seek help for charging or power faults without waiting.
Check the connection in the Easee App
Open your charger in the app and check the connection type. LTE-M confirms the mobile connection; WiFi means the charger is online through Wi-Fi instead. Bluetooth alone does not confirm remote access.
A working connection needs no restart. If the charger is still offline, keep it powered on until the 24-hour recovery period has elapsed.
Still offline after 24 hours?
Contact Technical Support with the charger serial number, whether charging works and the time power was restored.
Wi-Fi still will not connect?
Continue only if updating the saved network did not help or the connection keeps dropping. Leave the charger powered on if LTE-M recovery is already in progress.
- Check that the router is on, has internet access and that the intended Wi-Fi network reaches the charger.
- Recheck the saved name and password against the requirements in the Wi-Fi setup in 02. Ask the network administrator for help if needed.
Before the Wi-Fi restart
Stop charging. Operate the charger’s circuit breaker only if you can identify it, are authorised to use it and it has not tripped. Otherwise, ask the site owner or operator to arrange the restart.
Leave a tripped breaker or RCD off and contact your installer. Do the same if it trips when power is restored. Do not force a locked cable or open the charger.
Switch the charger’s circuit breaker off for 10 seconds, then switch it back on and allow the charger to start. Skip this if it has already been off for at least 10 seconds during the current problem.
Check that the Easee App shows WiFi or LTE-M, not just Bluetooth. Stop if the connection is stable.
Still offline or Wi-Fi keeps dropping?
Contact Technical Support after the applicable checks and single restart. Include the charger serial number, whether charging works, any error shown and what you have tried.
