An offline status means the Easee App cannot reach your charger through Easee Cloud. Charging may still work. This guide helps you check whether another problem needs attention first, then work through the connection checks that match your setup.

01Check whether anything else is affected

Look at the charger and consider whether charging has also stopped. Use the relevant option below for a dark light strip, an unfamiliar light pattern or a charging problem. These need a different check from a lost internet connection.

For an offline connection with no other known problem, continue below. You can also follow this route when you have not tested charging; there is no need to connect a car just for these checks.

Check for a service issue

Check Easee service status before changing the charger’s connection settings. A reported connectivity incident may explain the offline status. When an incident matches your situation and there is no power or charging problem, wait for the service update. Continue below if no relevant incident is reported, or the charger remains offline after it is resolved.

02Connect locally with Bluetooth

Bluetooth connects the Easee App directly to your charger. This gives you local access even without a connection to Easee Cloud, so you can read the current charging status and check the network settings.

For a charger using LTE-M with no Wi-Fi configured and no known charging problem, you can go straight to LTE-M recovery. Use Bluetooth when you need to check the local charging status or find out which network is saved.

Sign in to an Easee account that already has access to this charger. Stand near the charger, turn on Bluetooth on your phone and allow the Easee App to use it.

Connect via BluetoothOpen the offline charger locally in the Easee App.
  1. Press and hold the touch button above the light strip for at least five seconds. The charger confirms with a tone. The strip may turn blue; if Bluetooth is already enabled, it may remain white.
  2. Open the offline charger in the Easee App, select Connect via Bluetooth and confirm the pairing request.
  3. Check that Bluetooth appears on the charger screen. Your phone is now connected locally; this does not mean the charger is back online.

Check the phone permissions and follow the Bluetooth guide if pairing fails or the connection option is missing. Contact Technical Support if those checks do not restore local access, and mention whether charging works.

Now check the charging status or connection

For a car that will not charge or stops charging, read the status now shown in the app and follow the charging-status guide. This helps you address the charging problem first.

When charging works, or you are only checking why the charger is offline, continue to choose the connection path. The saved network settings tell you which checks to use.

03Choose the connection path

Keep Bluetooth connected and open the charger’s Wi-Fi settings. Look for a saved network name, then choose the matching path below. The name shows that Wi-Fi has been configured; it does not confirm a working connection.

04Connect to Wi-Fi or test the saved connection

Start with the setup guide when you are adding Wi-Fi for the first time. For Wi-Fi that is already configured but leaves the charger offline, use the second option to try another network. Comparing the results helps narrow down the cause.

Set up Wi-Fi for the first timeFollow the connection guide, then check the result in the app.

Use the Wi-Fi connection guide to select your network or enter its name and password manually.

Check whether the charger comes online after setup. An online status means you can stop here. Otherwise, return to this article and try the test below.

Test another 2.4 GHz networkCheck whether the charger comes online through a different network.
  1. Prepare another compatible 2.4 GHz network with internet access. A mobile hotspot can be used if your phone supports this setting.
  2. While connected to the charger through Bluetooth, select the test network in its Wi-Fi settings and enter the password. Follow the Wi-Fi connection guide if you need help.
  3. Check whether the charger appears online in the app, then use the matching result below. Saving the network name or connecting over Bluetooth alone does not confirm internet access.

Without another compatible network, contact Technical Support and mention that you could not complete this check.

Online through the test network

This points to your usual network or router as the likely source, but does not identify the exact fault. Use the Wi-Fi requirements to check its settings and signal with the person who manages the network. Then reconnect the charger to its usual network. Once it is online there, no restart is needed.

Still offline through the test network

The next check is to restart the charger once and see whether it comes online.

Before switching off the charger

Use the charger’s circuit breaker only when you can identify and operate it safely and are allowed to switch off the power. Otherwise, ask the person managing the installation to arrange the restart.

Leave a tripped circuit breaker or RCD off and contact an authorised electrician. This also applies if it trips during the restart.

Stop charging. Switch the charger circuit breaker off for 10 seconds, then switch it back on and allow the charger to restart.

Check the status in the app after the restart. Once the charger is online, you are done. Contact Technical Support if it stays offline. You do not need to follow the LTE-M procedure as an additional step; that is a separate path for chargers with no Wi-Fi configured.

05Restore the LTE-M connection

This path is for a charger that uses the mobile connection with no Wi-Fi configured. Follow the restart and recovery period below to try to restore that connection. To connect through Wi-Fi instead, use the Wi-Fi setup guide above.

Reconnection can take up to 24 hours

Allow up to 24 hours after switching the power back on for the mobile connection to return. The charger may still appear offline at first. Keep it powered on throughout this recovery period.

Before switching off the charger

Use the charger’s circuit breaker only when you can identify and operate it safely and are allowed to switch off the power. Otherwise, ask the person managing the installation to arrange the restart.

  1. Stop charging, then switch off the charger circuit breaker.
  2. Leave it off for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Switch it back on and note the time. Do not restart it again during the 24-hour recovery period.

Circuit breaker or RCD trips after switching on

Leave it switched off and contact an authorised electrician.

Once the charger has restarted normally, leave it powered on while the mobile connection recovers. You can keep charging during this time if charging works. For a car that does not start charging or stops, connect locally via Bluetooth and use the charging-status guide to check it.

Charger back online

Once the charger appears online in the Easee App, the connection is restored. You can use the app remotely again. No further connection checks are needed.
