New user – Access in the app

πŸ“± Effortless style β€” default from 16 June 2026
This article describes the Easee app in the Effortless style, which is the default for all new users from 16 June 2026. If you are still using the Classic style, see Easee App – Classic Style Navigation. You can switch between styles at any time under Preferences in the app.

In this article, we explain the different ways you can gain access to an Easee charger in the app, and what is recommended in the various situations.

Before you start

Before you proceed, it is important to clarify what type of charger you have:

  • Home charger
  • System charger (e.g. in housing cooperatives or condominiums)

If you have a charger in a housing cooperative or condominium, you will often have limited rights and access, as the charging system is shared with several users. In such cases, access is usually managed by a third party or the board.

Access to home charger

If you have a home charger, there are three ways to gain access:

Transfer from electrician

If the charger has recently been installed and not yet put into use, the electrician may not have completed the ownership transfer. This is the final step in the installation process.

If you have not received an invitation, contact your electrician. The invitation is usually sent by email and gives you the owner role for the charger and the installation.

Transfer from previous owner

Have you recently moved into a home with an existing Easee charger? This is one of the most common scenarios.

If the previous owner used the Easee app, they can easily transfer ownership. Ask the previous owner to follow the steps in How do I transfer ownership?. You will then receive an email invitation to accept ownership.

Claim ownership with PIN

If a transfer from the previous owner is not possible, you can claim ownership using the charger's PIN code. The PIN is found on a sticker inside the charger's electrical panel or in the installation manual.

In the Easee app:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Add product in the bottom toolbar.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps and enter the PIN code when prompted.
  3. This will transfer ownership of the charger to your account.

After gaining access

Once you have access, open the Easee app. From the Home screen, navigate to your site and tap the charger to open the product card. See Easee App Overview for a guide to the Effortless interface.
