Charging statuses in the Easee App
Understand what each status means and which conditions may cause it.
If charging does not start or stops, open the charger in the Easee App and find the exact charging status shown. The status shows where the charging session is, but it does not always identify the cause.
01Find the charging status
Use the exact status shown in the Easee App to choose where to start.
| Charging status | What it means | Open guide | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Waiting for authorization | Charging needs to be authorised before the session can continue. | ||
|
|
Waiting for schedule | A schedule or connected charging service is delaying the start. | |
|
|
Ready to charge | The charger is ready to supply power, but the vehicle is not requesting it. | |
|
|
Waiting for the car | The vehicle is connected, but charging has not started yet. | |
|
|
Complete | The vehicle has stopped requesting power for this charging session. | |
|
|
No car connected | The charger does not detect a connection to the vehicle. | |
|
|
Paused | Charging is currently being held on pause. | |
If the Easee App does not show one of these statuses, choose the situation you see instead.
02Check what is holding the charging session
Open the status shown in the Easee App and follow the checks in order. Stop when charging starts. If the status changes, return to the table above and continue with the new status. If it does not change after the matching checks or linked guide, continue to Support.
Waiting for schedule
Charging can be scheduled in the vehicle, the Easee App or a connected energy or smart-home service. Check each place where a schedule may be active.
-
Check every scheduleCheck the vehicle, Easee App and any connected energy or smart-home service.
-
Wait or adjust the scheduleWait for the scheduled time, or change the schedule you want to use.
-
Reconnect the cableIf the scheduled time has passed, disconnect and reconnect the cable at the vehicle. This starts a new connection after the schedule has ended.
Charging starts when the active schedule allows it and the vehicle requests power.
Ready to charge
The charger is ready to supply power, but the vehicle is not requesting it. Check the vehicle settings and charging connection to find what is preventing the request.
-
Check the vehicle charging timerCheck whether the vehicle is waiting for a scheduled charging time.
-
Check the charging limit and battery levelMake sure the vehicle has not reached its configured charging limit and that no battery setting is preventing charging.
-
Reconnect the cableDisconnect it at the vehicle, wait a few seconds and reconnect it firmly. This starts new communication between the vehicle and charger.
-
Try another compatible cableAnother cable helps rule out a problem with the charging cable or its connection.
-
Test the vehicle at another compatible chargerIf the same vehicle also does not charge there, the issue is more likely to be on the vehicle side. Contact the vehicle manufacturer so the vehicle or its onboard charger can be checked.
The status changes to Charging when the vehicle requests current.
Waiting for the car
The charger is waiting for the vehicle to begin the session. The vehicle may still be preparing to charge, or a vehicle setting or the cable connection may be delaying the start.
-
Wait 5–10 minutesThe vehicle may still be preparing to charge after the cable is connected.
-
Check the vehicle settingsCheck the charging timer, charge limit and battery status.
-
Reconnect the cableDisconnect it at the vehicle, wait a few seconds and reconnect it firmly. This restarts communication with the charger.
-
Test another cable and chargerIf possible, try another compatible cable and then test the vehicle at another charger.
-
Contact the vehicle manufacturer if the problem follows the vehicleIf the same problem occurs at another charger, the vehicle or its onboard charger needs to be checked.
The vehicle requests current and the status changes to Charging.
Complete
The vehicle has stopped requesting power for this charging session and controls when it requests power again. The charger cannot continue until the vehicle starts a new request.
-
Check the battery level and charge limitUse the values reported by the vehicle to confirm whether its charging target was reached.
-
Check the vehicle timer and battery settingsA timer or battery-protection setting may have ended the session.
-
Reconnect the cableAfter changing a setting, disconnect and reconnect the cable at the vehicle to start a new session request.
-
Test another cable and chargerIf the status is still unexpected, try another compatible cable and then test the vehicle at another charger.
-
Contact the vehicle manufacturer if it happens againIf the vehicle also stops requesting power there, its charging system or onboard charger needs to be checked.
A new session starts when the vehicle requests current again.
No car connected
The charger detects the vehicle through the cable connection. This status means that connection has not been detected.
-
Reconnect the cableRemove and reconnect it firmly at both ends. This checks that both plugs are fully seated.
-
Inspect the cable and plugsCheck the plugs and visible cable surface for damage. Do not use damaged equipment.
-
Try another compatible cableAnother cable shows whether damage or a communication fault in the cable is preventing detection.
The status changes as soon as the charger detects the vehicle.
Paused
Charging is currently being held on pause. A manual action, schedule or connected charging service may be controlling the session. Vehicle settings can separately prevent the vehicle from requesting power. An Equalizer is only a possible cause when one is installed and its limit is shown in the Easee App.
-
Select Start onceSelect Start once in the Easee App to rule out a manual pause.
If charging resumes, the manual pause was holding the session. No further checks are needed.
03Charging starts, but is slower than expected
Reduced charging power can come from the vehicle, cable, charger or installation. Use the Equalizer route only when an Equalizer is installed and the Easee App shows an Equalizer limit.
