Charging statuses in the Easee App
Understand what each status means and which conditions may cause it.
If charging does not start or stops, open the charger in the Easee App and note the exact status shown. The status tells you where the charging session currently is, but it does not always identify the cause.
01Find the status shown in the Easee App
Similar charging behaviour can have different causes, so use the exact status rather than choosing the closest description.
One status can have more than one cause
Vehicle settings, schedules, access control, operators, connected services or site limits may lead to the same visible state.
Waiting for authorizationThe charger needs an approved user before the session can continue.
Authorise the session
- Authorise the session in the Easee App or with an Easee Key linked to your account.
- If you cannot authorise, confirm that your account has access to this charger.
- If an operator or integration starts the session, check its authorization settings.
The status changes and the charger continues with the session.
If authorization does not work Check whether access is controlled by the Easee site, an operator or a connected integration.
Waiting for scheduleA schedule or connected charging service is delaying the start.
Check the active schedule
- Check schedules in the vehicle, the Easee App and any connected energy or smart-home service.
- Wait for the scheduled time or adjust the schedule you want to use.
- If that time has passed, disconnect and reconnect the cable at the vehicle.
Charging starts when the active schedule allows it and the vehicle requests power.
If it does not Identify whether the vehicle, Easee App or a connected charging service is still controlling the start time.
Ready to chargeThe charger is available, but the vehicle is not drawing current.
Check whether the vehicle requests current
- Check the vehicle’s charge limit, timer and battery status.
- Disconnect and reconnect the cable at the vehicle.
- If possible, test another compatible charging cable.
The status changes to Charging when the vehicle requests current and the site can supply it.
If charging still does not start If the same vehicle and cable also fail at another charger, check with the vehicle or cable supplier.
Waiting for the carThe charger is waiting for the vehicle to request charging.
Reconnect the vehicle
- Check the vehicle’s charging timer, charge limit and battery status.
- Disconnect the cable at the vehicle, wait a few seconds and reconnect it firmly.
- If available, test another compatible cable.
The vehicle requests current and the status changes to Charging.
If charging still does not start If the same vehicle and cable also fail at another charger, check with the vehicle or cable supplier.
CompleteThe vehicle has ended the session and is no longer requesting current.
Check why the vehicle ended the session
- Check the battery level and charge limit shown by the vehicle.
- Check whether a timer or battery-protection setting ended the session.
- After changing a setting, disconnect and reconnect the cable at the vehicle.
A new session starts when the vehicle requests current again.
If the status is unexpected Recheck the vehicle’s target charge level, timer and battery-protection settings before starting a new session.
No car connectedThe charger does not detect a connection to the vehicle.
Restore the cable connection
- Remove and reconnect the cable firmly at both ends.
- Check the plugs and visible cable surface for damage. Do not use damaged equipment.
- If possible, test another compatible cable.
The status changes as soon as the charger detects the vehicle.
If the vehicle is still not detected Try another compatible cable if possible. Do not force a connector that is locked or cannot be removed normally.
PausedThe session is being held by a manual action, schedule, vehicle or connected control.
Identify what is holding the session
- Select Start once in the Easee App to rule out a manual pause.
- Check the vehicle’s charging timer, charge limit and battery status.
- Check schedules in the Easee App, vehicle and any connected energy or smart-home service.
- If an Equalizer is installed, check whether the App specifically shows an Equalizer limit before using the Equalizer route.
Charging resumes when the control holding the session is removed and the vehicle requests power.
If it does not Follow the route that matches the active control. Do not choose the Equalizer route unless an Equalizer is installed and its limit is shown.
02Charging starts, but is slower than expected
Once charging starts, the available power and the active limit determine which guide applies.
Check the active charging limit
Reduced power can come from the vehicle, cable, charger or installation. Use the Equalizer route only when an Equalizer is installed and the App shows an Equalizer limit.
